Case Study 4:
Monitoring Web Services and Notification Using Text Messaging
 
An online company wants to be able to periodically monitor web services are available on their website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These web services are available for existing customers around the globe. They require their technical support be notified in real-time when any of the web services become unavailable.
 

We can customize Newbie and develop Newbie Scripts to periodically login to the website and confirm the availability of all services. When any one of the links on the website is not accessible, a text message can be sent to a designated cell phone number. The text message contains details such as service name, date/time and any additional error information. A historical log is updated on each verification for documentation purposes.
